I didn’t mean to drag this series out so long. I have been wanting to post about other stuff, but didn’t want to break this up. So, let’s finish it up with the final canoe camping.
The plan was to use day 4 to go canoeing and then take off and go backpacking for 2 nights. Being that the weather didn’t cooperate, didn’t look like it was going to, and the trails were quite the mess, I decided to go camping in the canoe instead. Here are pics of that.
Stayed in a lean-to on the river/lake.
A quick make-shift sock drying rack I made in the dark : ) It worked great though!
My knife for the entire trip.
It was so raining so much, that firestarting was fun. As you can see by the logs above, all my wood was gathered with an axe : ). Lots of prep involved in such wet weather.
Heading back home.
Even got to take the canoe through a set of locks. That was interesting!
Now, it is back to reality : ( It was a great week, and I am not sure about how I feel about going back to work : (
Hope you enjoyed the pics.
